It’s amazing what a little salt, some well-chosen spices and a bit of time can do to a vegetable. Learn the basic processes involved in fermenting almost any vegetable, while making your own jars of sauerkraut and kimchi to take home. This class is being offered through Portland Community College’s Spring Term and is course #27560. You can find the class on their website here. Make your favorite fruits and veggies last by turning them into pickles or preserves using the science of water bath canning. We’ll discuss safety, equipment and reliable resources, all while working through the whole process together in class. This class is being offered through Portland Community College’s Spring Term and is course #27158.  You can find the class on their website here.
