Basic Vegetable Fermentation

Learn the basic methods involved in fermenting any vegetable by working through the processes with cabbage, as we make our own jars of sauerkraut and kimchi. We’ll discuss processes, safety, equipment and reliable resources. Taught via Zoom.

You are welcome to simply watch, ask questions, and take notes – or you can complete the steps in your own home kitchen, following the instructor, while we discuss as a group. (Supply and task lists, along with class handouts, will be sent to students after registering, for those who prefer the hands-on approach.)

Class is being offered through Mt Hood Community College and registration must be completed on their site.

You must have a computer with a camera and microphone to take this class. Zoom instructions will be included in your registration confirmation email. Instructor will email your Zoom class meeting link within 24 hours of the start of your first class session.
